Abstract
Based on the analysis of original and literature data, a list of Black Sea brown algae, including 76 species represented by 90 infraspecific taxa referred to 44 genera of 24 families and 10 orders, was created. Ten species are new to the Black Sea flora. Peculiarities of brown algae distribution in 5 geographic areas were shown. Their greatest species diversity was observed along the Ukrainian coast (64 species, 76 infraspecific taxa), the lowest one along the Anatolia coast (25 species, 30 infraspecific taxa.
